How to Install the Mimecast Plug-in for Outlook
Install the Mimecast Plug-in for Outlook to send secure messages to borrowers and filter for unwanted emails outside the organization.
Features and Benefits:
- Secure messaging to borrowers with sensitive information.
- The borrower will receive an email where they have to register a Mimecast password. Have the borrower create their password and now they are able to see secure emails.
- Access Mimecast email features: Block Senders, Managed Senders and On Hold Messages to view ALL held messages in real time.
- Activate Continuity: When AFN email servers are down, you can send emails and receive them through Mimecast. All emails (active and deleted) are auto-archived.
- WARNING: Please activate this if you have been advised from IT.
- Search through deleted emails from the Mimecast archive directory.
Download the Mimecast Plug-in
1. Download the 32 bit file first. If your computer requires a 64 bit, then download the 64 bit Mimecast Plug-in.
2. Extract the zip file.
3. Click Extract in the pop-up window.
Install the Mimecast Plug-in for Outlook
1. Close Outlook and all Microsoft product windows.
2. Double-click on the Mimecast Plug-in to start installing the software.
3. Click Next in the Mimecast for Outlook Setup Wizard.
4. Checkmark "I accept the terms in the License Agreement". Click Next.
5. Click Next in the Prerequisites for Mimecast for Outlook.
Note: If an error appears, it is because you have a Microsoft product open. Close all Microsoft windows and click Next to proceed.
6. Click Install to save the program to your local computer directory.

7. Click Finish to complete the installation and launch Microsoft Outlook.
8. Check all boxes and click Allow Access in the Windows Security Alert.
9. At the bottom-right or bottom-left of your computer screen, a Mimecast for Outlook pop-up box will appear. Click Click here to authenticate your account.
10. The Mimecast for Outlook window appears. Click Authenticate.
11. Enter your Microsoft Outlook password. Click Submit Password.
12. Once the information has been verified, an Active message will appear.
13. In Outlook the Mimecast Plug-in will appear at the top. Now your account is ready to send secure messages to borrowers.
