The goal of AFN's document storage is to move away from the VPN server and be fully could-based. As you know, logging into the VPN server you may encounter some problems due to connection or a spotty internet. AFN wants to improve the overall experience of accessing your important documents, have better security and protection of your information, and make it easily accessible from your work computer and mobile device.
SharePoint only requires internet access. Employees can now work on files that are stored on the shared SharePoint site, where everyone can collaborate and work together.
When OneDrive is turned on, your files are automatically backed up to the cloud. If everything is mapped to your computer's file explorer, any change you make with the folders on your computer, they will sync with OneDrive instantaneously. Each user gets 1 terabyte of data storage with their AFN OneDrive.
Tips:
If you are on Office 2016 and are trying to map your SharePoint documents, Microsoft will ask you to update OneDrive first before you are able to map your SharePoint Documents to your computer.
250 GB max per file upload.
All file types are accepted in SharePoint.
Unacceptable file types for OneDrive: .TMP, .ini and ds_store.
Note: Make sure to close any Office applications: Word, Excel, Office and PowerPoint before you start mapping the SharePoint documents to your computer.
